All of our awards comply with COMNAVSURFORINST
3502.1A found in your instructional- so you can be confident you are
receiving the correct size, shape, and color when you place your order
with us.
Command Excellence Awards
Each award is made from 1/8" acrylic that
is cut out 100%- leaving no background color that may contrast with the
color of the ship. They
are cut from the correct color sheet stock, and are backed with an
exterior grade double faced tape, or magnetic backing for installation
on the ship.
- DFT Installation- Standard installations
receive an outdoor grade DFT (double faced tape) backing. This is used
when the awards
are to be
permanently displayed on the ship. Once they are installed- they
stay put until you take them down. We have
been told that our larger sized
20"x25" awards have withstood 20' seas and 50 knot winds.
- Magnetic Installation- We also offer
a magnetic installation for those commands that have the RADAR absorbing
hull coating commonly
found
on our newer DDG's. Since awards can not be attached, or painted
on the coating- we developed a magnetic solution for display of your
awards.
They can be easily removed when under way, and re installed when
you return. Just think of them as really big refrigerator magnets!
3” and
5” wide stripes are available in the appropriate
colors. These stripes are also cut out 100% leaving no background color
to contrast against the ship. Each stripe lays at the correct angle,
and match the width of the corresponding letter award. The appropriate
3" and 5" stars are available as well.
For those with small display
areas (MCM, MHC, ARS, PC), we have the ability to custom cut your hash
marks to save space at no extra charge
- just inquire when requesting a estimate.

Battle Efficiency Awards
We offer 3 sizes of the larger drop-shadowed
Battle “E” depending
on the hull class of your ship. They are made from 1/8" white acrylic
with a high performance black vinyl film applied to it for the 3 dimensional
effect. They utilize a DFT installation, but can also be ordered with a magnetic
backing if needed.
The correct sized white stars and drop shadowed hash marks are also
available in both DFT and magnetic installation solutions. The stars
and hash marks match the specified size of the "E" depending
on the hull class of your ship.
