  A different approach to name boards was requested when we made these 48"L boards for CGC SHEARWATER.  The 1.5" thick solid Oak boards were CNC routed with 1/16" thick PVC/gold face lettering applied to the front.  A golden Oak stain was applied to the board with dark Walnut stain applied to the deeper recessed areas to create more contrast.
