A non-standard logo panel made for the USS ARLEIGH BURKE using the center section of the DESRON 23 (LITTLE BEAVERS) logo. After redrawing the logo in high resolution format, we took the center section of the logo and printed it on to a rectangular shaped backing panel made from 3mm Diebond material. The gray colored background is actually part of the print all the way out to the edge of the panel. This allows us to insert the art in a much nicer fashion than trying to cut out the image and place it on a painted panel.
The process also ensures that the decal will not delaminate from the panel due to cut edges, trim marks, or thin areas like the rope in the bow. A 2'x3' rectangular print will adhere much better to the panel vs a cut out decal.
