Ribbon displays are sold as individual
units. Ashore commands typically require only one display while ships
will require two. CVN, LHD, and LHA will sometimes only wish to display
one board on the island.
Number of displays

Size of your displays is based on hull
class of your ship. Ashore commands have the flexibility to choose any of
the 3 standard sizes we offer based on their needs. Below is a list of
hull classes for each size ribbon we offer. This list is based on our
past experience making ribbons for our customers. If you prefer a
different size, please feel free to choose the size you want to display.

Size of displays desired
The following designs are available to build
your display. Ultra Thin displays are made from 4mm aluminum
composite material in a "welded frame" or fixed position.
Individual ribbons are single ribbons that are placed next to each other
by you to create the display.
Ribbon design desired
Ultra Thin ribbons are made using
6mm Diebond (aluminum composite material) while individual ribbons are made
using 3/16" thick acrylic or 4mm Diebond material.
Type of material

There are 3 basic installation methods
used for installing ribbons. Bolt on installation is for Ultra Thin
ribbons and uses small tabs that extend 1" on six places on each board (2
on each end and 2 in the center). Magnetic installation can be used on
Ultra Thin or individual ribbons and . It uses either 4" diameter ceramic
magnets or a sheet magnetic material bonded directly to the back of the
display. A very high bond DFT (Double Faced Tape) installation is also
available for Ultra Thin and individual ribbons.
Installation method

Ultra Thin ribbons are available in
mirrored or identical image format. Mirrored image is when the second
board is reversed in image. This displays the Starboard side board in the
proper order of precedence (only when viewed in reference to the ship from bow
to stern) It is a command preference that is offered at no additional
cost. Identical image is when both boards are made the same.

Price of your display
is based on the number of ribbons. All stars, attachments, and devices
are provided at no additional cost. We will arrange the ribbons list you
provide in the proper order of precedence for your estimate. Please
provide a list of awards along with the number of awards your command is
authorized to display/number of stars. USCG commands should include the
silver Operational "O" device found on Unit Commendation, CG MUC, and
CG Meritorious Team Commendation if desired.
