WOOD PRODUCTS OVERVIEW

Whether its a small medal case or a large photo board, every wood product we sell is made right here by us.  We use a combination of  proven wood working techniques with modern day tooling technology to give you the most beautiful products in a cost effective, efficient manner.

We manufacture our wood products using 100% solid hardwoods.   Some companies will call their products "solid wood" but in fact are not.  They will use a veneer finish plywood material and apply molding to the edges to hide the plywood core.  While the use of veneer finished plywood material may save initial cost- it is not a good foundation for building any display that will last, especially in an outdoor setting.  The cost difference for solid wood vs veneer is minimal when considering that the veneer board will need to be replaced much quicker than a solid wood board.  If it's made from veneer- It's not made here!!

Making things from wood requires a little knowledge in a lot of areas.  Having experience choosing the best wood for your application, construction techniques, and use of finishing processes are all a part of wood working that directly affect the appearance of the final piece.

The most basic question we ask when discussing any wood project is...  What kind of wood do you want it made from??  Most of you have some idea of what type/grain of wood they are looking for, but it is always difficult to choose from a picture on a web page.  Below are some examples of common wood grains and colors we use on our projects.  Although they are a good representation of the finished material- grains/patterns will vary slightly.  Color/tone of the wood is only affected by light source and stains applied.

Cost of your product is directly related to the type of wood used to make it.  Hardwoods like Mahogany, Walnut, and Cherry are more expensive than woods like Oak, Poplar, Hickory, Alder and Maple.

Below are a few pictures of some projects we have made using these woods for your reference...these are a fair representation of the color tone of each wood type shown..
