DEPARTURE PLAQUES and CUSTOM TROPHIES

You can probably find a local engraving shop to provide basic trophies and plaques.  Ask one of these places to manufacture a specific product, or a small quantity of a custom plaque, and they will not be as willing to do it (or it will cost you quite a bit more if they will take on the project)

Some commands like to provide personnel with a departure plaque when they leave the command to commemorate time spent there.  Some ship's like to offer plaques for plank owners or for decommissioning ceremonies.  We have the ability to provide these types of memoirs as well as other more operationally oriented recognition plaques for advancement like ESWS, CPO, and permanent Cutterman status.

The below 10" long x 8" tall plaque was created for CGC ALEX HALEY to provide recognition to the permanent Cutterman on board.  Each plaque started with a man-made plaque blank (Walnut finish) with a 4" diameter digitally printed image of the ship's crest on a 1/4" thick laser cut acrylic backing.  The 6.5" long Cutterman pin was laser engraved on Walnut wood.  We provided blank tags (black with gold lettering capability) to be engraved locally and installed on to the gold square once completed.

These trophies were developed for the 45 OSS based at Patrick AFB/ Cape Canaveral AFS in Florida.  We worked with our customer and his chain of command to revise the prototype to produce variations of the basic trophy as needed.

Our customer provided us with photos of the Mercury 7 memorial that resides on launch complex 14 at Cape Canaveral, FL.    From this photo, we were asked to produce a trophy "top" that could be easily installed on different size bases depending on the end use.

These are made from 1/4" thick water jet cut aluminum with natural metal finish. (center photo)  The bases are solid Cherry with a routed edge and some have a pre drilled hole to accept their command coin (right hand photo- far left trophy).  A space was left on each base to accommodate customer supplied engraved tags that are installed after receiving them.

Another interesting request for retirement gift that a typical trophy shop would probably not want to provide.

This display was created for a retiring pilot here at Nellis AFB.  The board is made from Oak with a black Cherry stained finish and has 2 pedestals to hold the long silver object.  (that long silver thing is an actual barrel from the GAU-8 Avenger Gatling gun found on the A-10)  A recessed area was created for display of patches and an engraved tag with a clear acrylic cover over the area to protect them.  To see additional pictures of this display click here

This display is used to show the past and present Commanding Officers of a command.  The display below was created for the USS Reuben James and features a wall mounted solid Oak case with an acrylic sliding face, custom built scale model of the Reuben James and a  7" diameter Command at Sea pin.

To see a few additional photos of the ship and pin click here.

This display is specific to the USS Reuben James, but can be easily altered to fit your command's needs.  The display is another good example of the type of displays we can produce that a trophy shop cannot because of our wide array of capabilities and knowledge of our military. .
