CUSTOM TROPHIES and PLAQUES |
| You
can probably find many local places that specialize in making basic
trophies and plaques. Ask one of these places to manufacture a
specific product, or custom piece and they will not be as willing to do it
(or it will cost you quite a bit more if they will take on the project)
We are now manufacturing trophies, plaques, and displays that are not locally available and will meet your requirements at very reasonable costs. These trophies were developed for the 45 OSS based at Patrick AFB/ Cape Canaveral AFS in Florida. Our POC could not find a solution to what they wanted locally, and contacted us to ask if we would be interested in taking on the project. We worked with our customer and his chain of command to revise the prototype to produce variations of the basic trophy as needed.. Below are a few pictures of the finished trophy we made and will be producing in the future as needed. Our customer provided us with photos of the Mercury 7 memorial that resides on launch complex 14 at Cape Canaveral, FL. From this photo, we were asked to produce a trophy "top" that could be easily installed on different size bases depending on the end use. We made the first pieces (far right photo) from 1/4" thick laser cut acrylic with a metallic finish.. The current (and future) pieces are made from 1/4" thick water jet cut aluminum with natural metal finish. (center photo) The bases are solid Cherry with a routed edge and some have a pre drilled hole to accept their command coin (right hand photo- far left trophy). Future bases could include up to 7 coins depending on the request. A space was left on each base to accommodate customer supplied engraved tags that are installed after receiving them. The top piece was produced in 8" and 12" sizes, it is pre drilled on the bottom to screw directly into the 1/4" thick black acrylic base and then is adhered on to the wood base with a very high bond double faced tape. The cost of the largest plaque (11"x14" flat plaque with 12" tall Mercury 7 design in the far right photo) was $45.00. The 12" design with 5"x7" base and hole for coin were about $26.00 and the 8" version was about $19.00
This display is used to show the past and present Commanding Officers of a command. The display below was created for the USS Reuben James and features a wall mounted solid Oak case with an acrylic sliding face, custom built scale model of the Reuben James and a 7" diameter Command at Sea pin.
To see a few additional photos of the ship and pin click here. This display is specific to the USS Reuben James, but can be easily altered to fit your command's needs. The display is another good example of the type of displays we can produce because of our wide array of capability that a trophy shop cannot.
