SERVICE RIBBON DISPLAYS

We offer 3 basic designs to provide the best display for your command. No matter which one of our designs you choose, they are built to look great and last. All of our ribbons use a 100% digital print process for their coloration to provide the absolute best in weather resistance and color accuracy.

Attachments are installed on the surface of the display using digitally printed decals. We always send additional attachments with our displays to help you keep them current, and at no charge upon request as needed in the future for as long as the ship wears the awards.

Here's how we make them..

Ultra Thin Design (pictured below) The "welded/fixed frame" design has been around for years. We have rejuvenated this design using composite materials, and state of the art digital printing to manufacture the most beautiful, longest lasting displays available.

In the past, fixed frame ribbons had one big drawback.. the need to buy a new set of displays when you get your next new ribbon. Unlike other fixed frame ribbons in the past, Ultra Thin ribbons are very cost effective to purchase. These ribbons can be mounted in a variety of ways. The light weight of each display allows for use of double faced tape, magnetic, or traditional stainless steel hardware. Although these units are very light in weight- we still do not recommend magnetic mounting for underway use.

Once ordered, we always send an image of the ribbons exactly as they would be made for approval prior to making them. This ensures the ribbons you receive are exactly what you want the first time without any mistakes.

Individual Ribbons (pictured below) These ribbons are made from acrylic, or aluminum composite material with a digital print for coloration. They are designed to allow you to arrange/add to them as needed with little effort. They are installed with very high bond double faced tape, and offer great flexibility with cost effectiveness.

Ribbon Track Design (pictured below) This design was introduced to provide the rigidity of a fixed frame display with the flexibility of individual ribbons. They utilize a track based aluminum frame that can be upgraded in the future. Each ribbon is made from acrylic material , and is held into the frame with stainless hardware. As your awards list grows- so does the display without purchase of a completely new one. You continue adding to the original frame by purchasing an update for the set when you receive your next new award.

The initial cost of Ribbon Track is more than a fixed frame set (shown above) but the updates are a fraction of the cost of buying a new set of displays. The slightly higher cost is typically offset after the very first update.

When you receive your next new award, you place an order for only the new ribbon and the components to expand the existing frame. We manufacture all frame parts from the same templates to ensure high quality, consistent fitting parts. We send illustrated instructions with each update to assist in making the addition of your new ribbon a snap.

Ribbon Track is usually installed using stainless steel hardware, but a magnetic installation can be used on sets containing less than 10 ribbons. As stated above, magnetic installation is not recommended for under way use.

Every set of ribbons we make is unique to its command and are made when ordered. We are always happy to provide an electronic estimate of cost for your set based on the information you provide. Here's what we need to know.......

1. Type of design desired- Fixed frame, Individual, or Ribbon Track.

2. Number of ribbons in your set.

Other information is helpful, but not immediately needed......

Hull class of ship/ area to display in- This allows us to determine what size ribbon is required for your display. Each hull class has a specific size per the instructional. Ashore commands that wish to display a set of ribbons can choose any of the 3 sizes available.

Display image (Mirrored or Identical) Mirrored image displays the Starboard side board in the proper order of precedence when viewed in reference to the ship. This is a command preference that can be requested at no additional charge.

Installation method- How would you like to mount the displays? Stainless steel installation, Double faced tape, magnetic, brackets, etc.

Ribbon list- If you can provide a list of awards and number of each award- we will include it on the estimate in the proper order of precedence.
